Avatar The clown has snuck out from the circus and is climbing through your bedroom window. Now he wants to tell you a story. Avatar build their vast universe on a few very simple principals. All great metal is created by understanding that the riff is king and that the riff is groove. Whether it’s a blast beat or a back beat, you need to understand the vessel in which your riff will be carried. Once it takes off, all you need to do is follow. Let the music play you. This is how it’s supposed to be. Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden the lads grew up in the eye of a storm of local musicians made up of metal greats and legends who conquered the world and redrew the map of heavy metal on a monthly basis. This was the measuring stick, and the group have proudly taken on the challenge ever since. @avatarmetal

Forever Still

Forever Still are a completely honest and emotional in-your-face heavy rock band with no
excuses. The band’s wide array of brooding beats, atmospheric electronic textures, and
stocky guitar riffs, all compliment vocal powerhouse Maja Shining’s emotionally revealing
lyrics, which range from soft lullaby tones to scathing and aggressive full throttle screams.

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, and consisting of Maja Shining, Mikkel Haastrup,
Maja Partsch, and Dennis Stockmarr, the band have built a large following by delivering
breath-taking shows fuelled by a consecutive level of very high quality releases – this is
no small feat, especially for a truly DIY band with no major backing.

In 2013, Forever Still released their debut EP ”Breaking Free” to extensive critical
acclaim and widely toured the record throughout Scandinavia. The following year the
band returned to the studio to record the first of three EPs that now make up their
full-length concept album ‘Tied Down’. The record grapples with a glut of personal issues
stemming from depression, anxiety, and worthlessness, through to perseverance and
recovery. The first EP picked up glowing reviews, as did the second record entitled ‘Save
Me’. The sophomore EP was released in April 2015 and Forever Still undertook a hugely
successful European tour, which saw the rocksters headline their first run of UK dates.

Forever Still has now unleashed their eagerly awaited debut full length album ”Tied
Down” in January, which is followed by extensive European touring

The Storyteller – Heavy / Power Metal with medieval melodies. That is the band’s own characterization of the style they play. This is a trademark that really speaks to what the band delivers and together with fast, melodic metal with fantasy lyrics, The Storyteller became one of the major posternames in the Swedish Power Metal scene. TS is a seasoned band with six studio albums in the backpack, and over the years the band has been appearing with bands like Helloween, Blind Guardian, HammerFall, Stratovarious, Sonata Artica, GammaRay others … They have also played at the major festivals in the Nordic countries where their live performances have been very appreciated. L-G Persson Who is the singer of The Storyteller says: ”We are really looking forward to playing on Sabaton Open Air wich is one of the major festivals on offer within the metal scene. We’re just writing material for a seventh album, which will continue the story from album nr 1 & 2 and Sabaton Open Air will be a perfect opportunity to introduce some of the new songs – but we will also deliver all our old favourites that the audience loves.” So for anyone who likes fast and melodic metal in the style of Blind Guardian, this is the band that you do not want to miss out during this festival #2017

Follow the Cipher confirmed!

Follow the Cipher is a metal band that started in 2014 when Ken Kängström decided he wanted to do his own thing. Ken is known for writing songs together with Joakim Brodén for Sabaton on the albums Carolus Rex, Heroes and The Last Stand.

Ken started to write songs while he auditioned for singers and stumbled upon the fantastic and beautiful vocalist Linda Toni Grahn, and from there on, Follow the Cipher was created.
Follow the Cipher represent a dirty, dry, rusty and lonesome environment in a devastated future, collapsed by a careless consequence of our past mistakes. The rebellion (The Cipher) is a clan of deserters acting as a force against the new world’s brutality and depression. FTC describes this environment in an adventurous way with the theme of their music and the lyrics within it.

Grimner Sweden’s six-headed hird Grimner incorporate folk instruments into their own melodic, yet aggressive brand of metal. With lyrics that honour the norse gods and fallen warriors of old (explicitly sung in Swedish), they have taken enthusiasts of both metal and folk music by storm. The band has recently performed at major folk metal festivals in Europe as well as being support act for Korpiklaani. Their latest full-length album ”Frost Mot Eld” (2016, Despotz Records) has taken Grimner to the next level, an album that gives a new touch to the mix of folk and metal – resulting in outstanding reviews. On stage Grimner gives a dynamic, intensive and jovial performance. No matter if you are a fan of folk metal or not – this is something you should check out! @grimnerband

ShadowQuest, in its earliest form, was conceptualized more than two years ago. Ronny and Ragnar had been writing songs for a long while, when they came across a singer they thought would fit the music perfectly. Patrik, being a fan of both Dionysus and Sinergy, was very interested and happily accepted the spot as vocalist. Ronny and Kaspar had been collaborating since the years in Dionysus, and it was with honour that Kaspar grabbed the keyboard wizardry position. Both Jari and Peter had been involved in various projects with Ronny, and two phone calls later the band was complete. ”We are extremely happy to have found each other”, Patrik says. ”Six persons that are stable and easy-going, as well as dedicated and having the same taste in music and music writing. It simply is not easy to find. In addition, we all share the same rotten humour. Epic.” Coming up with the band name was a process. It is hard work to find a name that everyone can agree on and feel for. A number of names was discarded, sooner or later, until the band decided for ShadowQuest. Artwork magician Thomas Holmstrand, who is known for logotypes and art work for Dionysus, Sinergy and Saint Deamon etc., was hired to design an artwork concept for the band. Musically, ShadowQuest is a mixture of many influences. Traces of Dionysus can be heard, spiced with heavier guitar work signed by Widerberg/Huss. Ronny’s ambition was to create a musical landscape in the vein of ”Painkiller” and ”Keeper of the Seven Keys”. Patrik added scents and flavours of Avantasia, while Kaspar worked hard to go deeper into the lyrical well he had been exploring with Dionysus and later Ride the Sky #2017 http://www.shadowquest.se
